Joint Commission releases annual report, finds national improved quality

Noticeable improvements have been made in the areas of heart attacks and heart failure, pneumonia, and surgical conditions, according to The Joint Commission's second annual report on healthcare quality and patient safety in the nation's hospitals.

The report is intended to examine how hospitals performed during 2006, and previous years, versus quality-related performance measures and safety goals.
